Glow Hard or Go Home

People keep saying to me ‘oh you’ve got that pregnancy glow’ which is very very lovely of them, but I hate to break it to them . . it’s just all highlight . . and lots of it! If love all things highlight-y that much I swear sometimes I look like Edward Cullen when he steps into daylight . . Give me all the glow and sparkle you’ve got!! I thought I would do a little blog post on my favourite highlight-y/glowy products and explain just why I’m so obsessed with them.

These are my current favourite go to ‘give me the glow’ products! From left to right; Stila 10-1 stay all day illuminating beauty balm, YSL touché eclat, Sleek solstice highlighting palette, Nars Copacabana, L’oreal Nude Magique cushion foundation, Mac refined golden bronzer and Topshop Glow pot.

First up is this Sleek palette (purchased from Superdrug) I’ve only had this palette a week or so and I am already so OBSESSED. I saw it on Jaclyn Hill’s (queen of highlight) snapchat last month and knew I had to have it! It’s under 10 British pounds and it is seriously one hell of a fleeky highlight palette.

Swatches from left to right; Subsolar, Equinox, Hemisphere & Ecliptic. As you can see for £9.99 they are unbelievably pigmented and beautiful shimmery colours! I haven’t yet worn one colour in particular I usually swirl Hemisphere and Equinox together and smother over my cheekbones. Love love love.

Next is a new release from L’oreal, it’s their Nude Magique cushion foundation (another Jaclyn Hill purchase). This is described as a ‘dewy glow foundation’ and that’s exactly what it is. It’s a weird concept as the foundation is held on the cushion as you can in the picture and when you press the product comes out. It’s definitely a dewy light to medium coverage but it’s also buildable, I love it because you feel like you have nothing on your skin yet you look dewy and flawless. I don’t use the sponge that comes with it because . . Well just ew, I use it with the Morphe M439 foundation brush and it buffs in like a dream. Here I am tricking people into thinking I have amazing skin yet I don’t look like cake face. Win win.

Next is Mac’s bronzer in refined golden, a classic. Does what it says on the tin, it’s a bronzer. Not too orange, not too dirty . . I am not about that dirty face life. This is a particular holy grail of mine, so when it came out in this limited edition packaging last year I couldn’t say no!

Then we have this Stila stay all day 10 in 1 illuminating beauty balm. I’ve talked about this primer/beauty balm/glowy God send a million times over. It’s an absolute firm favourite of mine! I think I dedicated a whole blog post to this one product a while back so if you want more detail on this amazing product just look back through my blog and you will find my crazy fanatic rave.

Next up is Nars illuminator in Copacabana. This is what I like to call my Edward Cullen game face. It’s a shimmery liquid highlighter that you can add to your foundation or apply over the top on your cheekbones etc or if you’re really crazy like me cover your whole face in it before you apply your foundation and when the sun hits you they’ll be able to see you in space!

Then we have YSL’s touché eclat, another classic. I find myself reaching for this if my eye bag game is particularly strong as I don’t find it gives me enough coverage to use it on its own I will wear it on top of under eye concealer for the extra illuminating ‘trying to distract from my eye bags’ look. Works. A. Treat.

Finally, another cream highlighter I hear you say, well yes. This is the Topshop glow pot in ‘Polished’ and I just can’t get enough of it, this is definitely up there with my all time faves. I won’t bore you with adjectives about its shimmery goodness I will just show you a swatch and let that do the talking.

I am not ashamed to admitted I have every one of these products on my face today. I feel like a beacon of light and I’m loving it! If you have any glowy/highlight favourites please let me know so I can continue with my obsession!

Em, xo
